Spirituality, the power of the chakras, and the animal kingdom are all among the inspirations that designer Alexandra Abramczyk pours into her ornate, figurative jewellery. Alexandra, who designs from her Paris studio, honed her craft creating pieces for famed jewellery houses Cartier and Graff, before establishing her own label in 2015. The designer draws on her upbringing for inspiration: she discovered her love of vintage jewellery trawling English antique fairs with her father, while her mother’s Victorian jewellery collection is also a touchstone.
One of Alexandra’s signatures is her Secret Glass collection. These glass pendants contain miniature worlds rendered in 18k gold and precious stones, some of which are loose, to create a playful, kaleidoscopic effect. Koi carp, spiders, and koalas are all depicted in these captivating pendants.
Indeed, the fine detail in Alexandra’s jewellery reflects her background studying fine art in Madrid, where she mastered restoration techniques and gilding, before she turned her hand to jewellery, studying at Paris’ Union Française de la Bijouterie and National Institute of Gemology.
Alexandra paints with stones, with her Spiritual collection spotlighting rainbow tones of precious stones that “draw on the strength and power of colours,” the designer says. She adds that these pieces are “a source of balance, harmony, energy, and well-being.” Her Rainbow Tassel Ring, which gleams with apatites (which are prized as stones of manifestation,) fancy sapphires, and diamonds, sparkles with positive energy.
