Interested in a particular piece? Contact us Each maison that Auverture Vintage Fine Jewellery is spotlighting has its own heritage and story to tell. Among our debut collection are creations that have come to define fine jewellery over the decades. They include Cartier, with its designs that span the cool glamour of Art Deco diamonds to the modern, graphic pieces that exemplified the house in the 70’s and 80’s. Then there’s Van Cleef & Arpels, whose figurative, intricate designs capture colourful precious stones in the house’s ingenious Mystery Set invisible settings. And the iconic Tiffany creations span elaborate, figurative designs from the 50’s to more contemporary pieces by designers Elsa Peretti and Paloma Picasso.
Other pieces– but perhaps less well-known - fine jewellery names included, among whom are Pierre Sterlé, renowned for his captivating treatment of gold, to René Boivin, founded by its namesake designer, which went on to thrive with memorable designs crafted by a succession of female designers. A clutch of Italian fine jewellery designers also make up Auverture’s vintage jewellery collection, including Bulgari, Sabbadini, and Buccellati. Retro jewellery from more recent decades features too. American fine jewellery house David Webb’s colourful, graphic pieces define mid-century glamour, while Poiray, a French maison founded in the 70’s, crafts jewellery that’s unique and effortless.
Discover the enduring appeal of pre-loved fine jewellery, with each piece containing its own unique story, which in turn becomes woven into the life of the person who wears it. Meet the piece that’s a match for you, and explore Auverture’s vintage fine jewellery collection here. WHAT IS HALLMARKING AND SIGNING? Jewellery, especially vintage pieces from heritage brands are often engraved with hallmarks on the inside of the jewellery piece. A hallmark can be the signature of the designer or house, in which case it is a signed piece of jewellery. The signature is the jewellery designer’s or house identification mark. This can be the initials or just the first letter of their first or last name. Other hallmarks can indicate the amount of carats, the year the piece was made or the series number, if it is a limited collection. Often, you will find both a number and signature of designer, e.g, Cartier 8395
HOW DOES AUVERTURE ENSURE AUTHENTICITY? To ensure the authenticity of a vintage piece, we work with trusted partners and experts around the world to verify each and every one.
Auverture works in collaboration with independent specialists and appraisers to include an ‘Expert Certificate’, proving a piece's authenticity. In addition to this, some of the vintage pieces we have on offer include an ‘Expert Certificate’ direct from the designer, proving their authenticity.
