Kintsugi Necklace
Kintsugi is the traditional craft of Japan that restores broken ceramics. Ceramics once shattered would be made whole again by bonding the fragments together with lacquer & gold, bringing beauty to what was once destroyed. Everyone has emotional markings - and we believe the wisdom you've gained through the tough moments, is something to embrace. In Kintsugi we learn that ceramics are destined to crack. This is a metaphor for how wisdom and beauty is birthed from our own lived imperfections. The Kintsugi collection is a tribute to honor this. The cracks create unique shapes and tell a unique story captured by MILAMORE. The Kintsugi Necklace is inspired by the abstract lines the golden lacquer leaves as it binds the fragments, instantly transforming you into the repaired ceramics.

Milamore
The beauty of imperfection is a theme that weaves through Milamore’s jewellery. Designed by George Root, who was raised in Japan and now resides in New York, one of the house’s signature collections is Kintsugi, a line inspired by the Japanese method of carefully restoring broken ceramics, repairing them with gold enamel to create something even more beautiful. “I felt as though this same philosophy could be applied to every human being,” says George. “We’ve all been through situations that have altered us and it’s nothing to be ashamed of,” he adds, noting that he wants the wearer to be reminded of this when wearing his designs.
