The Auverture Vintage Collection: Launching 18th June 2021
Whilst digitisation, technology and a need for innovative customer experiences might be reimaging luxury, some things remain the same. There’s just something about the classics that make them exactly that. Classic. At Auverture, we’re celebrating classic and timeless pieces with the launch of our new vintage collection. Featuring pieces from the likes of Bvglari, Van Cleef, Cartier, and Hermès we’ll be releasing one-of-a-kind items every week for the next four weeks. Starting today. To say we’re excited is an understatement. The rise of vintage 2020 was a pivotal year for fashion and luxury. There’s no doubt the pandemic changed consumer feelings and attitudes towards consumption. According to recent data, the total resale market is expected to double in value from $24bn (£18bn) to $51bn (£39bn) by 2023 – this accounts for 10% of the retail market. Taking the example of Depop, the social app used predominantly by Millennial and Gen Z consumers had 13 million users by the end of 2020 and 100% year-on-year revenue growth for the last few years. It’s no wonder that Etsy recently acquired it for £1.6bn in a push to expand its portfolio to younger consumers. As we already know, a younger generation of younger luxury consumers are changing the game. And it appears vintage is not only on the rise – it looks set to have a revolutionary impact on luxury. A conscious purchasing decision in a contemporary context Today we’re seeing vintage finds styled with contemporary items to truly make an understated statement. One of elegance or a simple nod to the true giants of luxury and their timeless style. We see this as being driven by a desire for less-conspicuous fashion in the current climate. It’s all about making a quieter statement whilst tapping into the values of sustainability and responsibility. Something that truly illustrates our ethos at Auverture. For many consumers, it isn’t just a style choice. Purchasing vintage fine jewellery items continues to be a conscious decision too. One of a circular approach to consumption. And it is this notion of responsibility that underpins the launch of our vintage collection in a contemporary context. Launching our vintage collection As a contemporary fine jewellery collective, at Auverture we strive to be accessible, transparent, and inclusive. It’s also our mission to unite individuals through fine jewellery to make a world of difference. By bringing these original items back to life we emphasise our commitment to a responsible luxury industry as well as celebrating the history, passion and craftsmanship that went into each of these pieces. Featuring vintage finds from the world’s most historic luxury jewellery brands spanning the 40s, 50s, and all the way up to the 90s, we’re incredibly excited to launch these stunning pieces today.
